She is on her way, and I can’t wait to meet her! Baby Ella is going to be one of the most loved children in Yakima, WA! Her mother, Christy, is one of my closest friends and old college roommate. She came down to Portland last weekend for her baby shower, and we got to do a casual maternity session afterwards. Sorry its taken me so long to get these up, I will send you the rest soon Christy!

I love it when I am introduced to new shooting locations. And its even better when I have great clients that can spot an awesome location. This session was originally going to be at Mount Tabor Park, but at the last minute the mom called me to change it to Peninsula Park in Portland. She had driven by and saw that the roses were blooming and thought it would be a better spot for her sons’ portraits. Boy am I glad she called to change it! This was my first visit to Peninsula Park, and its one of my new favorite places. Its so pretty there, and I didn’t know this but it was the original “Rose Garden” for Portland. And to top it all off, I got to work with a great family. Little G and E were so much fun to walk around the park with. “E” was so excited to show me how he can play the harmonica, and the cool rocketship on his t-shirt. Thanks to such a great family for an awesome session!

I am really excited about this new program we are going to offer! If you are interested in partaking in this great way to share your portraits, fill out the application below! You can also find the full details under the “Upcoming Events” page from the main menu.

A few weeks ago I got the privilege of photographing the family that owns Pudding on the Rice at Bridgeport. If you don’t know what Pudding on the Rice is, you need to make a point to get yourself over to Bridgeport Village in the next few days to experience it yourself. I have been obsessed with their frozen yogurt in the last 6 months, and I go there probably once a week to indulge. Its sweet and tart all at once, and healthy! The main part of their store, though, serves about 20 or so different flavors of rice pudding. The rice pudding I have been much more skeptical of, but to be honest once I actually tried it I was pleasantly surprised! Its like going to Ben and Jerry’s or for gelato with all the flavors they have, only its rice pudding! Anyway, since I go in there a lot, I met Jessica, the store owner and master pudding maker. She is seriously one of the sweetest people in the world. She approached me a few weeks ago about taking some photos of their family for some new marketing concepts they are trying out. She wanted fun, vintage, family-picnic style photos as well as some shots around the store of the them and the products. We did the photos over two different afternoons. This was SO much fun! I just love the vintage look of the ones we did at the Rose Garden. Jessica’s two little kiddos were great at modeling as well, and we got some fun ones of little Josephine running around in a pettiskirt at the end of the shoot. Here are a bunch of my favorites, and seriously, you need to get to Pudding on the Rice! (check them out at www.puddingontherice.com)

Now on to the good stuff…..

Is your mouth watering yet?

My personal favorite, the frozen yogurt:

This family was so much to photograph at their house last week. The littlest one, little “A”, was so shy at first. She didn’t want anything to do with me. Finally, after some coaxing with fruit snacks (its always the food that works!) she started to warm up to me. We got some really great shots in the family’s couple rows of grapes on their property. She loved playing hide and seek in the rows!
Just a reminder that the 2009 Beach Sessions at Cannon Beach are just 2 1/2 short weeks away! Send me an email or call if you haven’t signed up for your session yet!

I just started a personal blog if any of you are interested in following it. Its all about cooking, finding new restaurants, etc. Just one of my other passions besides photography! Anyway, you can check it out at:
