Check out the gorgeous property for this maternity session I did a few weeks back.  Thank you to mom-to-be C for putting up with me and letting me truck her all over the place!  It was a beautiful day and we got some great maternity images.  Take a look!

This family was very special to photograph.  The safe arrival of their healthy baby boy was happily embraced by the sweetest parents, and this mom and dad were absolutely beaming with love and happiness.  I did both a maternity and newborn session with this family, and both were a total blast.  Baby J took a little while to get to sleep, but it was worth the wait!  I am so happy for these new parents, they are going to do an awesome job raising this little guy.

I know I know, I am behind….its starting to feel never ending.  But thank you for being patient.  I myself am not a very patient person, so I know how hard it is to wait for something you are anticipating.  I promise I will get all my past sessions posted on here, little by little :)   To get you started, here are some recent sessions that we’ve done.  By the way, the summer weekends are starting to get all filled up, so if you are looking to do your session soon please contact me soon!

All you have to do is check out these images to see that this girl is such a natural in front of the camera.  Her parents have dabbled her in some modeling, and I can see why!  Her session was so much fun, with all the adorable outfits her mom brought and her beautiful long hair, we could have spent hours hanging out.  I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Studio Christy will no longer have an Online Viewing option for proofing your images.  All sessions that are currently loaded online will expire at the end of this month (unless you have a separate expiration date), and this form of viewing your portraits will no longer be available.  Please make sure to bring all necessary preparations to your viewing session with you.  This includes notes, lists, spouses, other family members interested in the photos, etc.  I really appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions about viewing your images please feel free to contact the studio.

If you have family members out of the area that are interested in ordering their own portraits, there will still be options available for them.  Most packages include a digital slideshow of the images, and I am happy to share a copy of this with any of your family members for ordering purposes.  They would receive an emailed version of this at the same time as you do with your portrait order.  You can also view a sampling of your images on the Studio Christy Facebook Page as most sessions are posted in the portfolio section.  You can view our Facebook page by clicking HERE.

So glad the sun is out today!  Its definitely chilly, but sunny nonetheless, hope you are all enjoying it!

I am so in love with this little girl!  She was so happy and let me take her portraits all over her house.  Not to mention mom’s awesome style with clothing and decor!  My favorite images are the ones of her in her little kitchen, and then in her purple bedroom!

I don’t think I have ever seen a baby under 6 months with so much hair!  She was so cute, and she was definitely sportin a great hair do!  I just love it, it gives her so much personality :)

A few days ago I had a student from the local high school come over and give me a presentation on a knife company and their products.  He is trying to raise money for college, and doing so by selling the knife products.  He was very nice, and I thought he did a great job presenting (the thought of doing this when I was in high school would have terrified me).  However, after meeting with him, it got me thinking a lot about how I run my meetings and the importance of honesty.  The entire time that we were meeting, he went through every single detailed package that they offered, and asked if I wanted to buy it.  He wasn’t pushy at all, but at the same time I felt like I was expected to spend hundreds of dollars without blinking at the cost.  There was no way for me to have seen the products (online or in a catalog) prior to our meeting, so I felt very unprepared for this.  Not only was I turned off by the company’s need to make the “instant sale”, but I was frustrated because if I was going to spend a lot of money on this product, I wanted to be able to discuss it with my husband and financially prepare for it.  Unfortunately because it was a little of the “now or never” mentality, I was left with the only option to decline all products for the time being.

This really hit home with me in thinking about my products at the studio, and how I can make things better.  Some of you have probably noticed that we have started to require Pre-Session Consultations.  This meeting with the high schooler really validated my belief that these meetings are very important in educating my clients on the products and services of Studio Christy.  I never want to come across as a pushy salesperson, and I want all of my clients to be at peace with their order decisions.  The only way for me to do this is to give you as much information up front as possible.  I want you to know everything that we offer, and all of our prices.  I have put many hours and heart into my products and packages, and would not want any clients to ever feel “tricked” into a purchase.  By reading your information packet (PDF emailed) and by coming in and meeting at the showroom prior to your session, you are given a full description of all of our policies, products, and prices.  This also helps you to start thinking about what products you might be interested in, and gives you time to discuss your decisions with your significant other/parent/etc.  Then when you come in to view your portraits, you are not thrown into an infomercial :)

I really just wanted to explain why we have started to do these new consultations, and the important role they play in educating you about our portraits.  I know some may feel they are an inconvenience, but please take these thoughts into consideration when setting up your session and meetings.

Ok, now on to the good stuff.  Below are some images I did of 2 yr. old “A” a few weeks back.  Thank you so much to “A”s parents for being patient in seeing their sneak peek and coming in for their viewing session.  Unfortunately right after their session I was in the car accident and it kind of threw my schedule for a loop these last two weeks.  Lots of chiropractor appointments later, I am starting to feel normal again and can’t wait to show them the rest of their images!

He was in love with his little airplanes.  I think you will probably find them in most of the images, except the one of him and mom where they heard an airplane in the sky and were looking for it!

I was a little nervous when dad hoisted this little guy up in one hand high into the air, but “A” didn’t even flinch.  I have no doubt this boy will never have a fear of heights!  We did this session at their home, and you can see from their images and mom and dad are very proud, loving parents.  “A” and dad have a special connection, and I loved watching them interact with each other.
